| Dunajska kavarna okoli 1820; na vogalu, glasbeniki igrajo. Franz Schubert je v pogovoru s prijateljem Solomonom Sulzerjem, pevcem iz bližnje sinagoge in drugim manj znanim glasbenikom, bržčas židom. Solomon je bil ravno promoviran v profesorja na Kraljevi akademiji. Neki drugi Schubertov prijatelj, Čeh Václav Matiegka, je prinesel svoje zadnje partiture. Z glasbeniki ujamemo trenutek v igri in petju v nemščini in jidišu, ki se po potrebi prilagajata... Der Hirt auf dem Felsen (Pastir na skali)ali Yiddish Lied... Brez obremenjenosti ali posebnega zavedanja prepletajo glasbene zvrsti. Schubert na klavirju izvaja improvizacije ob navdihu, ki žuborijo iz židovskih melodij... Dunaj je prestolnica glasbe, romantični imperij, ki se razteza onstran Avstro-Ogrskega cesarstva... in imperij se rad zabava! | A Viennese café circa 1820: musicians are playing in a corner. Franz Schubert is conversing with his friend Solomon Sulzer, cantor of a nearby synagogue, and other, less-known musicians, Jewish or otherwise. Solomon has just been appointed professor at the Imperial Academy. Another friend of Schubert’s, the Czech Václav Matiegka, has brought his latest score. With the musicians of the day, the “hits” of the moment are played and sung, in German or in Yiddish, and adapted when necessary... Der Hirt auf dem Felsen – The Shepherd On The Rock – or a Yiddish Lied ... Without being aware of it, they go from one type of music to another. Schubert sits down at the piano and, inspired by the Jewish tunes, improvises ... Vienna is the musical capital of a vast, romantic empire extending far beyond Austria-Hungary ... and this empire likes to have fun! |
